Nous sommes repartis vers le Camp Canada à 5000m pour y dormir cette fois. Tout le monde se porte bien, aucun signe ou symptôme du mal aigu des montagnes. Demain nous partirons vers le camp 2 à 5600m et y resterons pour la nuit. De là nous reviendrons au camp de base pour préparer l'ascension finale. Objectif sommet le 14 janvier mais nous avons quelques jours de réserve en cas de mauvais temps donc aucun risque à prendre. Nous vous ferons parvenir quelques photos à notre retour au camp de base où nous avons laissé une partie de notre équipement informatique.
Today we climbed back up to Camp Canada, to sleep this time. Everyone is doing really well, with no signs or symptoms of acute mountain sickness. Tomorrow we will head to camp 2 (5600m) and will sleep the night there. From there we will return to base camp in order to prepare for our summit attempt. The goal is to summit January 14, but we will wait longer if the weather isn't ideal so as to not take any risk. Hoping to send you some pictures once we return to base camp!

Aujourd'hui fini le repos, départ très tôt pour établir notre premier camp d'altitude à 5000m à camp Canada. Un fois les tentes installées et l'équipement déposé nous sommes montés à 5600m pour une marche d'acclimatation qui s'est déroulé sans encombre sauf pour une petite frousse alors que nous étions au coeur d'une tempête électrique. En plein nuage nous avons ressenti comme une électricité statique intense à nous faire dresser les cheveux sur la tête. Louis, qui avait déjà rencontré ce phénomène, nous a recommandé de ranger nos bâtons de marche (en métal) et de ne pas nous inquiéter. Apparemment sans danger selon lui, juste apeurant, il y avait de l'électricité dans l'air. Demain, nous remontons au camp Canada pour y dormir cette fois. De là, nous établirons notre deuxième camp et puis ce sera le sommet!
We started climbing early this morning in order to get to our first camp above base camp (Camp Canada, 5000m). We brought a lot of equipment as well as our tents to leave at Camp Canada before returning back to base camp for the night. The climb today went off without incident other than when we found ourselves in the heart of an electrical storm! The sky was full of clouds and suddenly we felt an intense static electricity that would have made our hair stand on end if not for our hats. Louis, who had experienced this phenomenon before, recommended we put away our metal walking poles and told us not to worry. In his opinion there was no real danger in the situation, it was just a bit scary to know how much electricity was in the air. Tomorrow we head back to Camp Canada to sleep this time. From there we will set up our second camp... and after that, the summit!
